In 2011 I presented my preliminary insights into the gap between facts and images during an OECD seminar. My case was the development of transport policy, as I have been involved with for many years. Images and facts differ widely on issues as costs and prices, reducing congestion and economic assessment of new infrastructures. Nowadays we talk of ‘alternative facts’ instead of what I called image.
