Many countries face aging bridges, tunnels, sluices, quays and other structures. The costs for renovations and replacements of this vital infrastructure, will rise sharply over the coming years and decades. A prognosis of the rising effort to keep our infrastructure properly functioning, has been made for the Netherlands. The TNO-study Renewal of civil infrastructure – Dutch national forecast for replacement and renovation can be downloaded. This may raise awareness in other countries of the challenges posed by our aging infrastructure.
