70% less CO2 from transport
A European Task Force set up by the Centre for European Policy Studies developed pathways and policies to achieve a tremendous reduction in transport greenhouse gases by 2050. This Task Force, which I chaired, comprised of all involved stakeholders, including oil and car industry, public transport companies, environmental NGO’s, experts and European and national government officials. Main conclusion is that between 50 and 80% of the required cuts will be achieved by clean technology for cars, trucks, ships and aircraft.
